Well I think this may have been my first run while it was snowing… It was a good run only I overdressed for the cold so by the last mile I was hot! (which is kinda funny feeling when it is snowing).
Now… on to yearly goals summary. My main goal was to run 10mpw and I mainly did that there were a few weeks that I didn’t reach it mainly this fall/winter. Actually End of October-December my running slacked off… It was due to colds, work, less light for outdoor running and plain laziness. I am not pleased by this, and will definitely try to avoid it. I also never mastered a handstand pose in yoga. I was getting good at crow but then I kept missing classes this winter– yet another thing I have to work on. I did however run a half-marathon this year which wasn’t a goal but an achievement and did cover the run 10miles at once goal… And shockingly I did make the 1,000 mile mark this year!!!!!
Overall I feel that I have improved in my fitness this year. I need to amp up my running again to were it was this summer. I must work on cross-training! I already signed up for yoga and strength classes this January.
2010 Goals:
- 1,000 miles
- 15-20 miles per week
- Cross-training at least once a week
- One race of at least a half marathon distance. (perhaps two… but it was hard to get back into running after my half to be honest)
- Eat healthier- particularly limit white pastas/breads and sweets
- Lose 15 lbs

Cold run, there was patches of ice along the trail. I tried out my Nike sportsband for the first time. It said I ran 6.86 miles at a 9:17 pace… too bad I know better then to believe it. I suppose I will have to calibrate it at the gym before it is useful.. Better run than some of my recent ones, breathing was better, shoulder still funky but got super thirsty by the last mile which was odd.
Only 1 more run/day left until the new year!!!

The rain and melting snow left huge puddles all over the trail but it was so nice to be able to run outside. Sadly the transition from treadmill to trail sucks- my breathing was weird the entire run and I just felt kinda blah. By the last two miles my feet were soaked from going through puddles. Hopefully tomorrow is drier!!

The gym was surprisingly busy today! I guess everyone is trying to work off the holiday in advance! Good run very strong. I wish this snow would melt so trail running could be an option!!!
